Horse Birth & Beyond Class
Spring 2010, A Ranch of Light hosted a VERY special Barn guest….A pregnant momma horse named Zuni!

Zuni has a given birth to a sweet baby filly named ZIA!
This spring, we offered a special class to study horse gestation, BIRTH and beyond!
The horse birth project was a complete success, providing an amazing opportunity to learn all about horse gestation, birth and delivery taught to an amazing group of girls!We fostered Zuni from a local horse rescue and she was an absolute gem as the subject of our class. Allowing us to poke, prod and just plain love all over her. Zuni was so great she won the hearts of a family in the class and is in the process of being adopted when Zia's weaning is complete! God is so AMAZING!Zia (which means "Light") was a wild child at first, but has grown into a lovely young equine citizen and we are pleased to announce she will be staying on as a member at A Ranch of Light!This class was a complete success! We had sweet fellowship, bonded friendships and a unique opportunity to learn more about God's creation! We ended the class with a bang by hosting a barn slumber party! 13 girls, me and Granma Tuddy pulled a final all nighter in the barn. Sleep was scarce as girls giggled and horses escaped paddocks to rummage skittles and half eaten bags of dorritos....sigh...horses.
We hope to host a birth project again next spring! Stay tuned as this is a project you don't want to miss!
This class is appropriate for children 10/11 yrs and up. The subject matter will be graphic by nature...so I advise all interested moms....to make sure it is something ther child is mature enough for.
There is a “Recommended Donation” of $40.00 per student to attend this 8-10 week class. These funds will help supply the costs of hosting the momma and foal, program supplies ect.
